Alchemical recipes were not only found in obscure treatises, written by an Adept. Many of the Western women alchemists were not recognized as such; however, if one examines their old recipe books, there is much to be found. The following is an example from a recipe book kept by Katherine Boyle Jones, Lady Ranelagh, and can be found in the British Library. These pages found near the end and you can see the various symbols that were used by many alchemists.
